Below you find a small selection of projects in which Current-IT has been involved.
Harmonized Way of Working
NXP, a global technology company headquartered in the Netherlands, develops high-quality chip based solutions for various domains and application areas. This places high demands on the engineering processes. In 2020, NXP started harmonizing the requirement and test management processes across the various business units worldwide. This is a complex and long term operation that should lead to efficiency improvement while maintaining the current excellent product quality.
As a business analyst, Arjen van de Wetering is involved in the analysis and harmonization of current engineering processes, the design of the engineering lifecycle tools and the roll-out worldwide.
Internet of Environments
With this project, a consortium of companies, including Current-IT, V-ID and IBM, wants to investigate how environmental information can be accurately and reliably measured, shared and turned into value for the benefit of our environment and health.
Current-IT actively contributes to the goal and strategy of the project and designs the IoT and Cloud architecture. We are working on a first implementation in collaboration with V-ID.

Marnix van den Berg, V-ID
Track transport
A major international rail carrier wants information about the location of its rail carriages. With this information, the transport is tracked, the arrival at destination is predicted and the destination is warned just before arrival. In addition, repairs and maintenance are planned and monitored.
On behalf of IBM, Current-IT designs a Cloud architecture, realizes a prototype and an introduces an implementation partner.

Smart trucks
Due to the increasing application of software and intelligent systems in trucks, design and construction are becoming more and more complex. The cohesion between the various components makes it necessary to properly record and validate the relationships during the design phase. PACCAR DAF Trucks has made the transition to the application of systems engineering tools that support this need. This provides a much better insight into the cohesion of the design, makes impact analysis much easier and opens the door to the implementation of advanced simulation techniques.
On behalf of IBM, Current-IT works on the technical and organizational implementation of these tools and users are trained in the correct application of this technology.

Model Driven Systems Development
Under the pressure of increasing competition, a European train builder must improve the quality of its products and the efficiency of its engineering process. To contribute to this goal the company decided to better integrate the Requirement Management, Model Driven Systems Engineering, Quality Management and Configuration Management processes.
On behalf of IBM, Current-IT is involved in the high level process definition and definition of a detailed MDSD process. Current-IT is also closely involved in the implementation by realizing integrations with external tool suites.

Artemis Crystal
Crystal is an EU funded innovation project involving a consortium of a large number of industrial companies and institutions, including AVL, Thalis, IBM, TNO, Philips, TU/e, Barco, Airbus, and many others. The aim is to improve industrial Critical Systems Engineering in Europe, with a main focus on tool integration. OSLC has been selected as the integration standard of choice.
Current-IT contributes to the improvement of the OSLC standard, the integration of OSLC into the engineering tools, and the integration of engineering tools of different brands, like MathWorks’ MATLAB, TU/e’s Poosle and IBM’s SE Suite. A number of demo implementations are realized to demonstrate that impact analysis and dynamic simulation capabilities are greatly improved.
